DNREC Officials Remind Hunters about Ice Hazards

Jan 26, 2013 -- 5:52am

With the extremely cold temperatures that we’ve been experiencing over the past week, DNREC Enforcement Agents remind hunters and boaters of the hazards of ice.  Waterfowlers using a boat while huntingshould watch ice conditions and currents carefully to avoid becoming locked in by ice.   Anglers, skaters and outdoor enthusiasts should exercise extreme caution when venturing out onto ice.  Ice should be a minimum of 2 to 3 inches thick and you should always take a buddy who could provide or summon help in an emergency situation.
