Dewey Beach Elections Committee Chair Named Town's 2012 Volunteer of Year

Jan 26, 2013 -- 9:29am

A woman who brought changes to Dewey Beach’s voter registration system has been named the town’s 2012 Volunteer of the Year.

Beverly Corelle is the Chair of the town’s Election Committee. She was recognized for the work she and her fellow Election Committee members did in converting the town’s paper voter registration records into a computerized database. Residents supported the digital conversion of the voter registration records. Some of them even donated computers and software towards the effort. The digital voter registration system was used for the first time during the Dewey Beach municipal elections last September.

Corelle was recognized during Thursday night’s Rehoboth-Dewey Chamber Installation Dinner.
