Magnolia House Fire Under Investigation

Jan 29, 2013 -- 5:01am

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is today trying to determine what caused a Sunday night fire at a home on Plain Dealing Road in Magnolia.

Firemen from Magnolia, Camden-Wyoming and Little Creek got the call around 7:30; arriving units reported heavy fire shooting through the roof of the single-story home, as well as flames in the garage.

Two adults and one child were able to escape the house safely, although the man was taken to Kent General Hospital with burns to his forearms; firemen say he tried to extinguish the fire prior to their arrival.

No word yet on how much damage was done to the home.
