A new, multi-million dollar Yacht Club is being planned in Ocean Pines, and some people are concerned, since the existing building has lost nearly $20,000 this year.

The Ocean Pines Association is losing money on amenities like golf and the Yacht Club. That's nothing new, but it was discussed again at a recent board meeting, especially since a new, $4.3 million Yacht Club will be built. That's in spite of a more than $19,000 loss so far this year.
Also, golf has showed a $300,000 loss.
 

Board member Dave Stevens said he's concerned the Yacht Club won't do much better even after a new building is up and open to the public.
 

Ocean Pines residents, earlier this year, overwhelmingly approved a referendum for the new building.
