Salisbury Mayor Jim Ireton squared off Wednesday night with his opponent for the upcoming Mayoral Election in April.
Ireton and Salisbury Blogger Joe Albero spoke to City residents at the First Baptist Church; the forum was hosted by the Wicomico County Branch of the NAACP. Both men addressed issues including crime, downtown revitalization and the cleanup of the Wicomico River.
Meantime, three candidates are running in the District 1 race and three others are running in the District 2 City Council race; both council races will head to a Feb. 26 primary; the top two vote-getters will move on to the April 2 vote. The candidates running for District 1 include April Jackson, Cynthia Polk and incumbent Shanie Shields. The candidates for District 2 include incumbent Debbie Campbell and challengers Jake Day and Jack Heath.
