A 33-year-old Dover woman who was arrested in July 2012 for abusing her 2-year-old son’s corpse has been sentenced to one year in prison.
Delaware State Police began an investigation into a missing child on July 9, 2012 after receiving a complaint from Family Services that a pregnant woman was no longer pregnant and her young son was missing.
On July 13, 2012, police contacted Karen Hooks who told them her son, Justice was being cared for by a female friend in Smyrna and Hooks denied she was ever pregnant. Police couldn’t confirm Hook’s story and got a warrant to search her Dover home where they found a suspiciously wrapped package in a storage area shared by Hooks and a female roommate. Human remains were found inside and were taken to the ME for autopsy.
