In the midst of calls for stricter gun laws, President Obama is expected to announce later this morning the creation of a gun control task force.

FOX News is reporting that the task force will be led by Vice President Joe Biden. The task force is reportedly part of an Administration-wide effort to prevent another tragedy like what happened in Newtown, Connecticut.

Aides say the President is likely to push for tighter gun laws, including a new assault weapons ban. Aides say the President would also like to find ways to improve school safety and access to mental health resources.
