DNREC Fish and Wildlife Enforcement agents on marine patrol checking waterfowl hunters for compliance Thursday morning rescued a pair of hunters whose small boat had capsized near Woodland Beach east of Smyrna.
The two men, 36-year-old Mario Cipolla of New Castle and 24-year-old Kenneth Tolite of Wilmington, were spotted about 9:30 a.m. in the water about 100 yards from shore; they were rescued quickly.
Cipolla and Tolite said they were duck hunting when their boat capsized just minutes before the agents arrived; both men were treated for hypothermia.
