A new fundraiser for the Delaware State Police’s Camp Barnes will hit the wrestling mats Saturday morning.
The first annual Camp Barnes Wrestling Classic will be held today at Sussex Central High School. Wrestlers will be split up into 5 different divisions, based on their ages by Saturday. The Tot division is for kids ages 6 and under, and weighing less than 85 pounds. The Bantam division is for kids ages 7 to 8, and weighing between 45 and 115 pounds. The Midget division is for wrestlers ages 9 to 10, and weighing 55 to 130 pounds. Wrestlers in the Junior division must be 11 or 12, and weigh between 65 and 140 pounds, with a maximum of 185 pounds. The Intermediate division is for teens ages 13 or 14, with weight classes from 77 to 170 pounds, with a maximum weight of 235.
Wrestlers paid $25 to enter the tournament. Admission will be $5 for adults and $1 for students. Kids 5 and under are free. The wrestling will begin at 9:30 a.m.
