Delaware State Police are investigating a crash that left a pedestrian dead in Wilmington.
Troopers say just before 6:10 Friday night, 52-year-old Charles Moon of Claymont was walking west across the southbound lane of Governor Printz Boulevard when he was hit by a minivan that was driven by 38-year-old Donald Franklin of Wilmington. Moon was taken to Christiana Hospital, where he later died. Franklin was wearing his seat belt, and wasn’t injured in the crash.
The crash closed Governor Printz Boulevard for two and a half hours. Pedestrians are being reminded to use marked crosswalks, look both ways, and make themselves visible to drivers when walking on or near roads. Pedestrians are also required to carry flashlights when walking at night.
