The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is asking for your help this week. DNR officials say the public can help the state prepare for future storms, like Superstorm Sandy, by taking photos of higher than normal King Tides expected this week.
When the earth, moon and sun align in a certain way, it increases normal high tides; those high tides are called King Tides.
The DNR says King Tides are expected in Maryland from January 9-13.
