Pot Pie Thief Pleads Guilty

Jan 09, 2013 -- 5:08am

A 22-year-old Salisbury man jailed for breaking into a Salisbury home last August and making himself a chicken pot pie, pleaded guilty to first degree burglary Tuesday.

Wicomico County Sheriff’s deputies say the homeowner called 9-1-1 just after 10 p.m. on August 15 and reported that someone was trying to break in. When deputies arrived, they found Russell Neff sitting in his underwear in the living room, licking a remote control; he also was cooking a chicken pot pie.

Neff will be sentenced on Friday; he faces up to 10 years in jail and will have to pay the homeowner $800 for a new front door which he broke down.
