State Lawmakers Expected to Reject Compensation Commission Salary Report

Jan 16, 2013 -- 6:56pm

A bipartisan group of state lawmakers plan to introduce legislation Thursday to reject proposed salary raises.  The lawmakers come from both sides of Leg Hall and they plan to say no to the Delaware Compensation Commission’s quadrennial salary report – which includes a 6% raise for members of the Judiciary and raises from 2.3% to 9% for selected Cabinet members.  None of the increases would have gone into effect in 2014.  The General Assembly has 30 days to accept or reject the report in its entirety – or the proposed raises would automatically go into effect.  Over 50 of the 62 state lawmakers sponsored the measure to reject the salary report.
