Jan 21, 2013 -- 9:55am

A Seaford man is in prison after being arrested for drug offenses in Laurel.

Around 10:50 Sunday morning, a Delaware State Trooper was patrolling near a convenience store on West Street in Laurel when he saw what looked like a drug sale taking place. The trooper says 39-year-old Xavier Johnson went into the store, and then got into a vehicle. The driver went onto a curb on West 6th Street and then pulled into the parking lot of the New Zion United Methodist Church. Troopers say Johnson then tried to run away with a nylon bag. State Police say more than 40 grams of cocaine, 41 grams of marijuana, about three grams of heroin, and 22 Oxycodone pills were in the bag.

Johnson has been charged with possession of cocaine, heroin and marijuana with the intent to deliver, tampering with physical evidence, and resisting arrest. He’s being held at SCI on $130,000 bond.
